A chart through the seasons
BaZi 八字, the Four Pillars of Destiny, describes a birth moment through the year, month, day and hour. Each pillar pairs a Heavenly Stem with an Earthly Branch. The day stem is the Day Master 日主, the starting point for reading the chart.
How the readings work
Our calculator uses your solar birth date, time and UTC offset to calculate the pillars, solar-term months, Ten Gods, element balance and luck pillars. You can calculate a chart without an account.
AI-generated readings interpret those calculated facts. Sections appear as they are written and checked. Interpretations can contain errors and are for reflection, not professional advice or a guarantee about your future.
Learn before you buy
The chart and learning library are free. Start with how to read a BaZi chart, or see the reading options. Celebrity and history examples label uncertain or predicted birth hours.
The Purple Star family
BaZi is a companion to Purple Star Astrology. They read the same birth through different traditions. Accounts and purchases are separate on each site.
